About McLaren
McLaren Automotive (previously McLaren Cars) is a British automobile manufacturer situated in Woking, England, at the McLaren Technology Centre. The company’s principal products are supercars, which are built in-house in dedicated production facilities. McLaren Automotive became a wholly-owned part of the McLaren Group in July 2017.
In 2010, McLaren Automotive took over from McLaren Cars. McLaren Automobiles was established in 1985. The McLaren F1 was released in 1992 by the firm. Before the creation of McLaren Automotive in 2010, McLaren Cars was registered as a “dormant corporation” between 1994 and 2010. The new firm was initially separate from the current McLaren companies to allow for investment in the new endeavor, but after Ron Dennis sold his shares in McLaren Automotive and McLaren Technology Group in July 2017, the two companies were merged.

Bruce McLaren, the founder of McLaren Formula One, was born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1937. In his homeland of Auckland, New Zealand, McLaren learned about vehicles and engineering at his parents’ service station and workshop. By the age of 15, he had joined a local Hillclimb in an Austin 7 Ulster and won his first race.
